June 2020

As the lockdown has continued to ease - for whatever the reason (s) - we have continued with no outdoor fitness, indoor classes , clinic or PT - everything is available in our on line gym and will continue to be so as this is the future of fitness.

Our on line fitness remains the same, we will be bringing back Nordic walking this week, the Doublebois poles will re start this Sunday (19th July) - guidelines are below. Obviously a lot of areas are not suitable for walking due to being unable to socially distance - so our routes will be different.

No plans on any Beamfit classes at Hoburne - and I do not see this happening for a long time - Personal training - whist we could take clients - we'll not be - it remains on line only.

The clinic is closed and will remain so - on line appointments only.

It really is now up to individuals who have been slow to change to decide on a fitness plan, in a new way and stop the thinking of how various situations are not 'for me' - the world has changed so don't get left behind - give new stuff a try, you may well like it .

For nordic walkers - here are the guidelines - remember they can change at very short notice - NORDIC WALKING GUIDELINES

1. POLES APART 2M DISTANCE
2. MUST HAVE OWN MASK TO USE
3. MUST CARRY HAND SANITISER
4. NO CASH PAYMENTS
5. MUST COMPLETE 2020 PAR Q
6. MUST BOOK SESSION
7. NO REFUNDS ONCE BOOKED
8. 5 CLIENTS IN CLASS
9. ADVISE CARRY OWN FIRST AID KIT
10. USE OWN POLES
11 USE OWN HIGH VIS
12. ADVISED TO USE LESU PAWS

As the lockdown turns into un lock we can get confused easily with all of the anomalies it throws up, 1-2 metre distance, can't visit family, but people going on holiday to Spain, no more than 6 in a group unless you protest and it's thousands , waiting for a Covid second coming, but it hasn't , wear a face mask, or not……….it all seems to be coming down to individual choices , the bottom line is use common sense and stay safe, and ask the question to yourself "Do I need it, want it?'

With the 1 metre maybe coming'soon it takes Nordic Walking back to a normal distance for a group and safer when meeting up - 2 metres is safe for Covid, but a big gap form front to rear, especially when navigating a small country road. With a 1 metre, should group size be larger?

All we can do is use the guidelines and remain positive, remain relaxed.

We have no re start date at Lesu for the Nordic Walking, a 1 metre rule gives us a normal distance for a beamfit class too, so there is some light at the ned of the tunnel.

In the meantime - stay safe, take care, stay fit and healthy

It's been a fantastic week with Doublebois Fit Club - we went 'Back to Basics' in all of our daily sessions to give a measure of how far everyone has progressed over the past few months, more sets, more reps were achieved with sessions also averaging 12 minutes longer, it was also evident in core strength and focus - On line exercise is 'THE FUTURE OF FITNESS'

When gyms re open it could be a caesura of gong and leaving in your work out kit, no showers available, equipment will have to be thoroughly cleaned after use and probably before by you personally (not just a wipe down) - equipment will be taped off if distancing cant be done and a lot of the studios will not be large enough to hold a class - coupe al of this with the sweat and atmosphere of increased breathing and it all doesn't sound very inspiring!!!!

Out door fitness is back for groups of no more than 6 and on line exercise is here to stay - the advantages are there for all to see, if on line suits you, it is the way to go. We have a gr8 crowd with us at LESU, our classes are 6 days a week, cost effective and gr8 fun.
